Accepting The Answer No- Social Emotional Learning Game – Self Awareness

“No” is a part of life. Kids will hear the word “no’ much more than they would like and they need to learn what an appropriate response is. It is okay for kids to feel disappointed but it isn’t okay to hurt others, destroy property or yell and scream.

Objective: To help students understand how to accept the answer “No”.

How will learning take place? Through  an engaging game to help students practice distinguishing the difference between accepting no in a positive way and accepting no in a negative way.

Objective: To help students understand the distance they should be apart when talking to someone,

How will learning take place? Through  an engaging puppet video lesson to help students learn the importance of personal space followed by a social story game.

Why teach this? Everyone needs personal space to move, breathe and talk. Students need to learn how much space is appropriate so that they can stay that far apart or come closer to effectively communicate.

All Skin Colors Are Beautiful- Social Emotional Learning Game With Puppet Show- Diversity- Self Awareness

Teaching students about skin color can feel uncomfortable for many people but it is a conversation that needs to be talked about early on.  Allow these puppet videos to help with that! To also help with this, allow students to ask questions, talk about where skin color comes from, about how everyone has a skin color but that doesn’t make them the person they are, ect. We live in a colorful world and that is what makes us so great! 

Objective: To understand that we all have different colored skin but that doesn’t make us who we are.

How will learning take place? Through TWO engaging puppet video lessons on diversity from two different perspectives: A boy with light skin and a girl with colored skin followed by a social story game.  

Why teach this? Teaching students about diversity when they are still young will have a profound impact on how they view each other as they grow up.
