Waiting Is Not Easy- Social Emotional Learning Game- Patience – Self Awareness

Come meet Tommy (puppet)! He is so excited to tell you about his school day and what he learned. Unfortunately he runs into some problems when he doesn’t get to answer all the questions and has to wait for others to take a turn. In the end he finds out why he needs to wait.

Objective: To help students understand why it is important to wait and be patient.

How will learning take place?  Providing an engaging puppet video lesson to help students learn the importance of being patient followed by a social story game!

Why teach this? Waiting your turn is a part of life and will always be a part of life so we need to teach children the importance of it and what they can do when waiting gets hard.

Additional Components (not included in the digital version on Boom Learning): There will be discussion questions, a transition activity to close the lesson as well as an extended learning idea on how to embed this casually into your classroom throughout the week or even better the year!
