Tape Up Your Candy!
Do you have special treats for your children in your house? This is a perfect fine motor activity to make the “treat” last a little longer. To space out the indulgence of the abundance of candy in our house, I took the kids Easter candy and put each piece in individual plastic eggs. I then took tape and taped the egg up all over.
You can make this exercise as simple (less tape) or as difficult (more tape) as you want depending on your child’s ability. Once the eggs were taped I had the kids decorate them with markers to identify which eggs were theirs. Once it’s treat time, the kids can grab one of their eggs and spend quality fine motor time getting the tape off before they’re able to enjoy the treat! This makes getting to the “end prize” a lot more fun!
