DIY Gift Idea

It was my mom’s birthday on new years day and I usually have my  kids make her something useful! This time they made her a super simple grandma candy jar! It was so easy and they loved making it and giving it to her because “they made it.”

I bought a jar from Target for $6 and I had the kids decorate it with various art materials. It did require us to use hot glue but tacky glue might also work. I had my kids pick out what they wanted, point to where they wanted it and I would use the hot glue:) Some of the materials were stickers so they could just stick those on right away and I could reinforce them later.  And then we obviously had to fill it with candy (and eat a few too).My boys really enjoyed this and my mom was so surprised and happy to receive it from her grandkids! Happy Birthday Mom!
