Code the Tree

As we begin full time distant learning kindergarten over here, I will be trying to do as many possible hands-on activities to go along with what Max is learning in his class.  He enjoys those much more than all the computer stuff so here is one I set up for him to work on patterns, coding and fine motor and of course it goes along with #stemplaytoday!

You take one long pipe cleaner and wrap branches around the long pipe cleaner to form a tree.  Then I made “coding” strips for him to look at and he got to choose which pattern he wanted to make on each branch. He recently found a bell that he LOVES so he added that to the top to bring the tree a little jingle:)
